Oklahoma City Ballet would like to invite the Season
Subscribers, Patrons and the Public to an open house at the new location of their
headquarters, the Susan E. Brackett Dance Center at 6800 Classen Boulevard on
June 22, 2017. The event will last two hours, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The
Ballet just recently completed the first phase of the renovations. The space,
while currently still under renovations, is now being used for the Ballet’s premier
Summer Intensive program that draws aspiring dancers from all over the
country. This year, 6 countries and 34
states will be represented by nearly two hundred dancers attending the six-week
training course. The program participants come from across the United States,
Canada, South Korea, Italy, England, Australia, and China to train. They will
be the first dancers to be taught in what is fast becoming an exceptional and advanced
dance training facility.
The open
house will feature tours of the building, with a dialogue of the plans for the
various spaces throughout the 28,000-square foot facility. Two studios have been completed, with 3
studios still left to build, as well as the majority of administrative offices.
The
organization recently launched a capital campaign to support the renovations
and establish an operations endowment for the Ballet’s facilities. Over half of the money needed to complete the
campaign has been raised.

About
Oklahoma City Ballet: Founded in 1972 by Ballet Russe dancers Yvonne
Chouteau and Miguel Terekhov, Oklahoma City Ballet has been the city’s
professional ballet company for 46 years. It is the resident dance company of
the Civic Center Music Hall and currently boasts dancers that hail from around
the world. Led by Artistic Director Robert Mills, the company produces four
main stage productions per season in Oklahoma City and tours across Oklahoma
and the surrounding states.
