TU Dance October 13 & 14, 8:00 p.m. Williams Theatre Founded in 2004 by former Alvin Ailey principal dancers Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri Sands in Saint Paul, Minnesota, TU Dance is one of the leading voices for contemporary dance. The company aims to reveal the connective power of dance, celebrating a beautiful diversity on stage in work that often navigates complex themes of social change. The 10-member, professional company is acclaimed for its versatile artists, performing work that draws together modern dance, classical ballet, African-based and urban vernacular movements. Uri Sands was recipient of the inaugural 2005 Princess Grace Award in choreography. Aspen Santa Fe Ballet January 26 & 27, 8:00 p.m. Williams Theatre Since its founding in 1996, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet has carved a reputation as a dance-lover’s dance company. ASFB’s bold vision – top global choreographers, distinctive groundbreaking repertoire, and virtuoso dancers – has fostered a jewel of a dance company with an European sensibility glossed with American ebullience. The company has come to epitomize the contemporary-classical genre introducing new choreographic talent to national stages; fostering a new breed of exceptional dancer; and stimulating audiences with high-caliber performances Repeat engagements at the American Dance Festival, Harris Theater for Music and Dance, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Joyce Theater, The Kennedy Center, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and Wolf Trap testify to the company’s popularity and ability to please audiences. Pasadena Roof Orchestra February 23, 8:00 p.m. Venue to be announced Swing is in. Top-name DJs are stocking up on old vinyl copies of the great big bands. Trendsetting clubs are vying to outdo each other with their swing and electro-swing nights. The Pasadena Roof Orchestra is the band responsible for starting the revival. The dance orchestra, with its authentic 1920’s 1930’s feeling, technically brilliant delivery, rousing atmosphere, and utterly unique light-hearted musical style, makes it the ideal band to dance the night away. Add dinner and drinks and you have a Choregus Productions party. Table seating. Food and drink available for purchase. Alicia Hall Moran: Black Wall Street May 24, 7:00 p.m. Williams Theatre Known for her passion and flair, mezzo-soprano Alicia Hall Moran has been heralded for both her beautiful voice and her bold programmatic choices. combining an intellectual inquisitiveness to her exquisite music-making. Black Wall Street premiered in New York City’s historic Federal Hall, after development the at the cutting-edge arts center, National Sawdust, and in concert at the Schomburg Center for Research In Black Culture/New York Public Library. With collaborator and husband, iconic pianist Jason Moran (Artistic Director of Jazz for the John F. Kennedy Center), and Historian and Collector Gene Alexander Peters (Co- Director, Slave Relic Museum, Waterboro, SC), Moran’s chamber work reconsiders the tragedy of the Tulsa Race Riot with in depth history, a new gaze and a new soundtrack.

Choregus is an IRS 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation. Donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent provided by the law. Our mission is to present outstanding performing arts that would otherwise not appear on Tulsa stages and to engage the community with the visiting artists.

Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic's great, big beautiful exhibition of paintings, icons, and
sculptures covers galleries on the first and third floors of the Oklahoma City Museum of
Art. He combines colors and dress of the present with classic portraiture of the the l8th 
century, while Micheal Jackson greets visitors in the traditional style of a ruler on a
rearing horse. Wiley, who is 40, has used such masters as Titian, Van Dyke, Ingres and
Manet.

At first Wiley appears to be playing with us, but he obvious is not. His works are in museums
including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Studio Museum in Haarlem, the Denver 
Art Museum, and the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.

The exhibit runs through September 10, Sunday. Hours are 10 a. to 5 p. Saturday, 12 a. to 5 p.
Sundays, l0 a. to 5 Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a. to 9 p. - $5 after 5, and 10 a. to 5 p. 
Friday. The museum is closed Labor Day.

Friday, September 8th: UCO Jazz Lab It's the Miss Brown Quartet! We're starting our next album project in October, so we'll be featuring some of the songs we plan to record.

September 15th & 16th: Austin! We'd really appreciate it if you'd let your Austin friends know that we'll be sharing some dates with The Therapy Sisters: Friday the 15th at Patsy's, and Saturday the 16th in Lisa and Maurine's back yard. Have them contact me for more information!

Cuchla has a new album! Many Pigeoneers know my friend Cuchla Fuller - we've been working on her album for more than a year, along with engineer/percussionist/visual artist Elyse Angelo. Her release party is Friday, October 6th, from 7 to 10, at the Community Building at Will Rogers Park. We'll play Cuchla's album, and more!

Perpetual Motion Dance is seeking 2-3 new company members for our 2017-2018 season! Audition will consist of an hour and a half modern class followed by an aerial invitation to one of our weekly classes. Some aerial experience (or ambition to learn) preferred but
not required. BFA in Dance Performance or equal experience preferred. Please bring resume and headshot/dance photo.

Perpetual Motion Dance rehearsal schedule is Sunday 10:00-2:00, Wednesday 6:00-10:00 and 1 morning rehearsal (day TBA) from 9:00am-1:00pm. Perform an average of 2-3 times a month. Must be able to commit to weekly rehearsal schedule, plus two-week rehearsal/performance schedule in May for our Spring concert.
