OKC Ballet, Lifechange Ballroom, & Race Dance Co.
7:30 p.m. July 14 Myriad Gardens Great Lawn
The Arts Council of Oklahoma City’s Sunday Twilight Concert Series, presented by Devon, invites performing arts lovers of all ages to free, family-friendly concerts at the Myriad Gardens. The Arts Council of Oklahoma City welcomes the Oklahoma City Ballet, Lifechange Ballroom, and Race Dance Co. as featured performers in a fabulous night of song and dance Sunday, July 14 at 7:30PM.
To begin the July 14, Sunday Twilight Concert, students from the Oklahoma City Ballet’s Pre-Professional Summer Intensive will present a variety of dance styles. Also on the line-up is a performance by LifeChange Ballroom dance studio, a program that teaches young children confidence, sportsmanship, and the value of hard work through dance. In 2012, the program was selected as the winner of the Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence (ONE) Awards in the Sports and Recreation Category. Rounding out the evening is the Race Dance Company, a group founded through a belief to bring about social awareness and change through dance education. Oklahoma’s first professional jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary company was selected in 2010 as one of the Oklahoma Gazette’s top five performance companies in Oklahoma.
“It is such a thrill for the Arts Council of Oklahoma City to bring together the talents of three major Oklahoma City dance groups on one stage,” said Christina Foss, director of the Sunday Twilight Concert Series, presented by Devon. “It will be a memorable evening!”
The Sunday Twilight Concerts take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Band Shell on the Great Lawn at the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and picnics; however pets and glass containers are prohibited.
