AUSTIN HARTEL RECAPS
HARTEL DANCE GROUP'S
YEAR, AND PLANS
FOR THE FUTURE

** Greetings, Dance Friends!
------------------------------------------------------------
As I sit to write this year-end letter, I can hardly believe how fast the year
has passed!  Can it really be December?  Yes, it is, and while HDG had a quiet
year here on the home front in Oklahoma City, We were very active overseas.  I
decided to reach out to my international connections to reinvigorate the
Company’s energy and to open the doors to new experiences.

Thyrsa and I were invited to join the prestigious faculty and jury for the XXIV
(http://www.seminario.dancebrasil.art.br/index.html) Seminario Internacional de
Dança de Brasília (http://www.seminario.dancebrasil.art.br/index.html) ,
teaching several classes and judging with a fantastic team of professionals from
around the world. Company member Rachel Hendricks also came and it was a great
experience for her as well.

Reconnecting with our South American dance family, old and new friends, creating
new relationships and expanding our international presence once again, was
refreshing.  We also spent 4 weeks in Paraguay where Thyrsa was teaching and
coaching dancers throughout Asuncion and I was on the Jury for the Concurso
Nacional de Danza and also a Judge for the regional Youth America Grand Prix,
were they chose 4 Paraguayan Dancers to represent the country in New York City
in April 2015. It was great to have the opportunity to see the young talent in
South America.

Our new website was launched in November, after working with a very talented
artist for quite a while, the collaborative experience and the long process were
well worth it! We are very happy with our site. You can visit it at
www.harteldancegroup.org (http://www.harteldancegroup.org/) .

I returned to Oklahoma reinvigorated and ready to move forward once again.  In
2015, you can look forward to another Oklahoma City season and I am exploring
possible performances in Florida and Colorado.  I am in development stages of a
performance in the variety / nightclub genre. The first installment is scheduled
for early February and we hope that you can join us as we spread our creative
wings in new directions.

After 8 years I find myself in a period of transition in which I am refocusing
to create exceptional dance theater here in the heart of the country.  I am at a
cross road in my process and with your support can continue to explore new
approaches and engage in collaborations with the talented artist of our city to
present entertaining and challenging evenings of experiences for all to see.

This period of transition is truly a turning point and I am writing to enlist
your help. Your donation this year will determine the extent to which we can
continue to pursue our vision for a robust creative community. If ever you
considered writing a check, this would be the moment!
