MARY REYNOLDS'
MISS BROWN TO YOU
COMPLETE OCTOBER
SCHEDULE
From staff sources
The Park Pigeon Occasional Vol. 17 No. 9
Now this is the official October schedule for Miss Brown to You, and it’s jam packed with crazy stuff, so I beg your indulgence.
First
up, our regular First Saturday Deal at Full Circle Book Store. October
3rd. (That sounds so good: October. It’s October.) 7:30. And they
have not only fine coffee but a snappy wine list and your favorite local
beers.
Sunday,
October 4th: He’s Billy Joel, only not so famous. He’s James Taylor,
but cheaper. He’s Paul Simon, only taller. He’s Buddy Mondlock, one of
the most well-regarded songwriters working today, and he will alight on
North May Avenue right here in the 405 this Sunday Night, 7:30. That’s
at the Back Alley Gallery, 5026 N May Avenue, in that shopping center
where Michael’s is. Louise & I will join him for a few numbers.
$15 at the door.

I have to say that among my ambitions, not irritating Janis Ian would
be pretty near the top. And, we recorded a song of Buddy’s on our
album, ‘Roll Away’: Ticker Taker Blues.
Also,
the next night, at our house (but you have to make a reservation) Buddy
will give a Workshop on Songwriting. It starts at 7:30 and costs $30,
but that includes the wine. So. Email me for a reservation, or call me
at 204-4884.
Wednesday,
October 7th, Miss Brown to You will play the OKC Museum of Art at Noon,
for the Arts Council’s Art Moves program. Take your lunch break with
us! 415 Couch Drive, 73102.
Friday,
October 9th: we’re back with Susan Pierce, and our drummer Randy
Coyne, at Grand House, 6:30 to 9:30. We’re excited to be playing at
this beloved Oklahoma City institution!
Sunday,
October 11th: it’s the Sisters of Swing that’s right you read that
right the Sisters of Swing at UCO Jazz Lab. We’ve got, as they say, a
really big shoe for you. We start <early> at 7:00. 10 bucks
American.
Thursday, October 15th: Miss Brown to You at Puebla Tacos y Tequileria in Norman. 304 E Main Street, 7:30. No cover.
Tuesday, October 20th: Zannotti’s of Stillwater presents Miss Brown to You. 7 to 9, no cover.
Some special announcements:
We
won’t be at Full Circle on November 7th: we’re in LA at a convention.
There’ll be somebody nice there, just not us this time.
And
the Sisters of Swing Christmas shows are revealed: The Winter Wind
Show at the Depot in Norman is Sunday, December 13th at 7:30. And the
Christmas Benefit (two shows) at Saint John’s is Saturday, December 19th
at 2:00 and 7:00.
and now your Halloween greeting. warning: this really is scary. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyYEmPp9yhI
I know. I played it last year. I think it’s worth running again.
Forgot to mention that we are hosting Emily Kaitz in a house concert on Saturday, October 17th. This will be a combined Emily/Miss Brown show, also featuring Drifty Texarkana on the steel guitar. Admission is $20, house opens at 7:00, and you need to make a reservation: reply to this email, or call 204-4884. Last time we had a sold out show, and the show itself was tremendous! love, mary
