& OPENS THE ROOF TERRACE

Third Thursday: Black & White celebrates "Ansel Adams and the Photographers of the West" Event also kicks off OKCMOA's Roof Terrace season

WHEN: April 18, 5 to 9 p.m. 

WHERE: The Oklahoma City Museum of Art, 415 Couch Dr., Oklahoma City, OK 73102

WHO: Activities are appropriate for teens and adults and no reservations are required. Third Thursday admission is $12 for non-members and free for members.

WHAT: Inspired by our special exhibition "Ansel Adams & the Photographers of the West," April’s Third Thursday theme is Black & White. We are happy to announce that the ROOF WILL BE OPEN (weather permitting) in addition to the Ansel Adams inspired programming listed below.

• Create black and white nature gelli prints in Founders' Hall.
• Story time with Metro Library in the galleries.
• 6 p.m. Learn all the tricks of the trade from artist and educator Eric Lyons in the "If Ansel Adams Had a Smartphone Workshop" (additional ticket).
• 7:30 p.m. screening of "Diary of a Lost Girl," a 1928, black and white silent film that was the second and final collaboration of actress Louise Brooks and director G.W. Pabst in the Samuel Roberts Noble Theater (additional ticket).
• 7:30 p.m. Join Mark Zimmerman, Associate Professor of Mass Communications and Photography at UCO, and OKCMOA's Amanda Harmer as they present the "Ansel Adams from a Photographer’s Perspective Tour." This tour will focus on the technical photographic techniques used by the great master himself (additional ticket).
• Live music from The Steve Coleman Duo and cash bar on the Roof Terrace.

PHOTOS/INTERVIEWS: Opportunities will be available to photograph visitors and to interview Museum staff.
