RIOULT was founded in 1994 and fast became an established name in modern
dance with a reputation for creating and presenting the sensual,
articulate, and exquisitely musical works of Pascal Rioult, a former
Martha Graham dancer. Born into the American modern dance tradition, The
company has been invited to perform in theaters and festivals
throughout North America including New York City Center’s Fall for
Dance, Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, American Dance Festival, the
Annenberg Center in Philadelphia, the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the
Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, and Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley. An
extensive international touring schedule has brought the company to the
Bermuda Festival, Cannes International Festival, the Paris Opera
Bastille, and La Maison de la Danse in France and to stages in Italy,
Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and numerous other countries, cities and
towns throughout the world. The Tulsa program will include Les Noces
with music by Stravinsky, Wien and Bolero with music by Ravel, and On
Distant Shores with an original score by Aaron Jay Kernis.

Choregus is an IRS 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation whose mission
is to present outstanding performing arts that would otherwise not
appear on Tulsa stages, including multi-cultural presentations,
avant-garde music, cutting-edge drama, and modern dance and to engage
the community with the visiting artists via educational outreach
opportunities
.This season, we greatly expanded our educational and outreach
activities related to most visiting artists, with six educational
performances, seven master classes, and additional workshops and
in-school experiences. Our recent efforts were recognized when we were
chosen as the 2012 recipient of the Oklahoma Governor's Arts in
Education Award.
Through
our participation in the Arts and Humanities Council's Any Given Child
Tulsa initiative, 3500 Tulsa Public School 4th Graders will have the
opportunity to attend a Choregus dance performance during our 2013-2014
season.
