RACE Dance Company presents VAMP’D, a Halloween-themed, burlesque-inspired club show at 8 p.m. on October 28-29, upstairs at The Loft on Film Row located at 700 ½ W Sheridan in Oklahoma City. VAMP’D will consist of professional, costume-clad dancers pushing the boundaries of self-expression and sexual confidence in Oklahoma.
VAMP’D Creative Director LaKeysta Tipton-Goree says this is the first time in RACE’s eight-year history that the company has been able to produce a second RACEy show in the same calendar year.

“Generally our themed RACEy shows take place around Valentines Day, and we sell out both nights,” said Tipton-Goree. “So the show is a fan favorite, but the other big reason we were able to add VAMP’D to the mix is because RACE Dance Company now has a home at The Loft on Film Row!”

VAMP’D kicks off RACE’s first performance of the 2016-2017 season. Attendees must be 18 to enter and 21 to drink during this hair-raising, forbidden adventure. Costumes are highly encouraged – a costume contest will be held each night with a first place prize awarded by the cast. Tickets for VAMP’D are available online for $25 apiece at tickets.racedance.com.

A cast party will be held at The Loft after the show on October 29. The party is for ages 21 and up, and is free to attend if with a ticket purchase to the show either night. Otherwise there is a $10 cover charge at the door.

For RACE Dance Company, having a new home base facilitates more than an additional performance space. RACE Dance members use the space to rehearse on a daily basis. The company also holds its weekly Race the Space hiphop and contemporary dance classes and workshops there for adults who want to dance as a form of exercise. The beginning through advanced level classes are designed by and for adults. To sign up for classes or to view the full schedule of classes, visit: racedance.com.
